Your Ford is a valuable investment, and regular servicing and maintenance will keep it in great condition for many years to come. These are some of the many services that your Newnan, GA, Ford dealership has available for you.

Radiator Repairs

Your radiator’s purpose is to remove excess heat from your engine to prevent your engine from overheating. Coolant is pumped through the engine, and it absorbs heat emanating from the hot engine components. This heat is locked inside the coolant and transported to the radiator. Inside the radiator, the heat is removed from the coolant by heat exchange, and the coolant circulates through your engine again.

A radiator is subject to constant high pressure and extreme heat. Coolant flowing into the radiator can easily exceed temperatures of 300 F. As time passes, the heat and pressure can cause cracks in the radiator, damaged radiator hoses, or blockages in the radiator tubes. Our technicians can repair any radiator damage and flush the radiator to remove blockages or debris buildup.

Brake Pad Replacement

Brake pads are a consumable part of your braking system, and they fit inside the brake calipers. When you mash the brake pedal, the brake calipers clamp on either side of each wheel rotor, and the pads generate friction against the rotors. This friction brings the rotors to a stop. Each pad has a special material covering that generates friction, and this covering gradually wears off.

A  worn brake pad generates less friction than it previously did, and the reduced friction increases your stopping distance. You may also hear screeching or squealing when you brake. Badly worn pads will even produce a grinding noise and damage the rotors when you brake. We can easily remove the worn pads and install new ones while you wait.

Tune-Up

A tune-up consists of checking several systems in your engine to improve performance. We check and replace your spark plugs, engine filters, cabin air filter, and engine air filters. Worn spark plugs can cause misfiring and damage other engine components. The three filters are designed to keep dirt out of the engine, your cabin, and the intake manifold respectively. They gradually become blocked and need replacement.

We test the voltage of your battery to ensure that it’s still in good condition, and we test the vacuum in your engine for any air leaks. Worn or damaged seals can allow additional air into the engine cylinder, for example, and this reduces engine performance. In addition, we test all the hoses and belts and we check the quality of all your car fluids and top them up where necessary.
