2023 Ford F-150

For several years, the F-150 has been available in seven trim levels, but Ford has recently added an eighth to the lineup. It starts with the XL trim, which features a variety of utilitarian systems with an understated exterior. The XLT continues this with the added convenience of power-adjustable side mirrors. The Lariat then offers some more serious upgrades, such as LED headlights and taillights, along with mirror-mounted LED spotlights. When you select the King Ranch trim, you can expect a stunning exterior with unique wheels that are 20 inches in size and custom decorated. The Platinum, alternatively, changes the wheels to polished aluminum while also featuring power-deployable running boards. At the Limited level, you get 22-inch polished aluminum wheels. Meanwhile, the Raptor boasts 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and a unique grille. The new trim, named the Tremor, has its own distinct suspension, a dual-outlet exhaust, and 18-inch wheels with a matte finish.

Under the hood of the F-150, you will find one of six engine options. The standard engine is a 3.3-liter V-6 that produces 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.5-liter EcoBoost boasts 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost is remarkably efficient and provides 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 produces 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. If you want a V-8, the 5.0-liter variant produces 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a 3.0-liter turbo diesel that offers 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

Towing capacity has always been one of the most impressive aspects of the F-150. When properly equipped, it can tow up to a stunning 14,000 pounds, thanks to the incredibly powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6. Even its standard limit is an impressive 8,700 pounds. In terms of payload capacity, you will find a capability that is just as formidable as it can haul up to a best in class 3,326 pounds.

Inside the F-150, you will find an inviting interior that is packed with advanced technology. Sometimes, though, the best features can be deceptively simple. The mobile workspace feature, for example, lets you fold the shift lever flat to create a table you can work on. Additionally, this pickup utilizes premium materials and offers a 12-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The F-150 has long proved itself to be one of the safest trucks to drive. It earned a full five stars for its overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after extensive crash testing.
